Let's Build it Now - and Rebuild Something in Us All

In 1973, Governor Rockefeller and Mayor Lindsay changed the name of New York City’s Welfare Island to Roosevelt Island in tribute to FDR.

The three-acre site at the tip of the island was to become the Louis I. Kahn-designed Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park.

Now, it is time to build. Gift naming opportunities range from $100,000 to $10 million, but contributions at any level are gratefully welcomed. Click here to learn more about Four Freedoms Park and to make a contribution to the effort.

The Four Freedoms Park will be a majestic addition to New York City’s—and our country’s—offering of public spaces. Every visit to this park, every glimpse of its simple grandeur, will be a reminder to us all of what we stand for, fight for, and want with all our hearts to leave to our children and their children’s children.
