The Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute was founded in Hyde Park, New York. Just 2 hours from Manhattan in the Hudson River Valley, it is a world away in atmosphere and was a source of strength and inspiration to which Franklin Roosevelt returned throughout his life. For the last century, Hyde Park has been fertile ground for rigorous policy discussion and formulation, for meetings with domestic and world leaders, for brainstorming with scholars and policy experts and for retreats with the student fellows of the Roosevelt Institute.
FDR found in Hyde Park many practical and innovative solutions to our country’s problems. Though the Roosevelt Institute today has offices in New York City and Washington, Hyde Park remains an essential part of us.
